Crime Log ― Oct. 17 - 25

Vandalism ― Lot K (Alpha)

Reported Oct. 18, 4:06 p.m., occurred prior to 4:06 p.m.

A Campus Safety employee reported a sign containing graffiti in black marker. Campus Safety is continuing the active investigation, though the incident was not reported to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Vandalism ― Lido Apartments

Reported Oct. 18, 7:24 p.m., occurred between Oct. 12, 12:30 a.m. and Oct. 18, 7:24 p.m.

A Campus Safety officer reported damage to the metal gate leading into the apartment caused by an attempt to pry some of the gate. Campus Safety is continuing the investigation, though the incident was not reported to the LASD.

Petty Theft ― Library

Reported Oct. 18, 8:12 p.m., occurred between 2:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

A student accidentally left their wallet in the library and later noticed they were being charged for card purchases they did not make. Campus Safety is continuing the investigation with the LASD.

Trespassing ― Tradewinds Apartments

Reported Oct. 23, 4:53 a.m.

A Campus Safety employee reported two individuals hiding between vehicles parked near the apartment. The employee contacted Campus Safety officers, who made contact with one of the individuals, though the other fled the scene. Campus Safety and LASD officers could not find any evidence of a crime, but gave the individual an official trespass warning.

Vandalism ― Lot J (Sigma Lot)

Reported Oct. 23, 9:07 p.m., occurred between Oct. 21, 4:30 p.m. and Oct. 22, 4:30 p.m.

A student reported their vehicle had received scratches from keys. Campus Safety is continuing the investigation with the LASD.

Trespassing ― Blackstone Hall

Reported Oct. 24, 8:58 p.m.

A student reported an individual entering campus through La Mirada Boulevard carrying a bagged item that appeared to be a bottle of alcohol. Officers made contact with the individual and after determining he had previously been banned from campus, ordered him to leave. The individual left without further incident.
