Film students win Shure recording award
An idea hatched between friends last winter has, for three CMA students, paid off big time. Three weeks ago, cinema and media arts majors junior Jeremy Davidson and seniors Michael “Danger” Kilpatrick and Christopher Irwin found out that they placed third in Shure’s Fantastic Scholastic Recording Competition.
Student satisfaction at Biola comparatively high
Biola students ranked Instructional Effectiveness as the most important area of student life, and as the area that they were most satisfied with, according to a survey conducted in Fall of 2007. 942 out of 3550 traditional Biola undergraduates participated in an online Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of Biola. Gladys Chan, a C.L.E.A.R. staff member, said that they were pleased with the response rate — a rate that was boosted through the incentive of a draw for five iPod shuffles.
Jesus Mural Forum Sparks Discussion
Last night, a discussion regarding the Jesus mural was held in Mayers Auditorium. The auditorium was filled with over two hundred students and staff gathered to address the impact of the mural on the Biola community. Liana Sims and Tabitha Verdick coordinated the event, which included a panel of students who gave different personal viewpoints regarding the Jesus mural. The panelists were alumni Randy Johnson and Phillip Wallace, juniors Michael Martin, Emily Johnson, Daniel Chacon, Verdick and sophomore Rosetta Riley.
