NEW PROPOSALS

  • Senators heard one new proposal from junior Kayle Fields, Off Campus Community senator, requesting $4,256 to fund The Torch, Biola’s student radio station. Although The Torch received funding from the journalism department, the additional money is necessary to purchase equipment needed to operate, according to Fields. The requested funds would go towards software, two LCD touchscreen monitors and an iTunes account.

Fields emphasized the fact that funding the radio station would be in line with Associated Students’ platform this year to build connections, and that The Torch would help create stepping stones that would lead to future jobs for students.
