A suspect approached a Biola student and tried to rob her of her wallet at La Mirada Regional Park Tuesday at about 5 p.m.

The suspect hit the female student in the face before fleeing on foot, according to a mass crime alert sent out by Campus Safety. Justin Shelby, public information officer of Campus Safety, said on Wednesday that the student, though shaken up, is OK.

The suspect is described as a male Caucasian around 20 years old, and 6 feet, 2 inches in height.

Campus Safety and the La Mirada Sheriff’s Department did not have any further details on the suspect as of Wednesday morning. Any investigation would be in the hands of the city and the county, not Campus Safety.
