Crime Log ― October 4-10

Grand theft auto and petty theft makes up this week’s crime log.

Petty Theft ― Library

Reported Oct. 5, 2:44 p.m., occurred Oct. 5, between 1:50 p.m. and 2:03 p.m.

A staff member left their wallet unattended in the restroom and found it gone upon returning to the library. The individual choose to not report the incident to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, and Campus Safety is continuing the investigation.

Petty Theft ― Horton Hall

Reported Oct. 5, 2:51 p.m., occurred Sept. 30, between 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

A student reported their wallet stolen after leaving it unattended in the main lobby. The incident has not been reported to the LASD and Campus Safety is continuing the investigation.

Disturbing the Peace ― Lot K

Oct. 9, 12:57 a.m.

A resident of the Bluff apartments reported loud music coming from a vehicle on the top floor of parking structure K. An officer approached four individuals at the scene, and they turned off the music without further incident.

Grand Theft Auto ― Off-Campus

Reported Oct. 10, 9:46 a.m., occurred between Oct. 8, 2 p.m. and Oct. 9, 9:30 a.m.

A student in the Block apartments on Rosecrans reported their locked vehicle stolen after parking it on the street. Since the street is considered public property, the case was referred to the LASD, and Campus Safety is assisting with the investigation.
