Officials have yet to determine the cause and suspect behind a fatal shooting of a long time In-N-Out employee early this morning.

In-N-Out identified the victim as Josefina Alcocer, who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso around 4:50 a.m. at 14300 Firestone Blvd., according to sheriff’s deputies. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials are working to obtain surveillance video footage from outside the restaurant. The identity of the suspect has yet to be released

Though the restaurant was closed to the public at the time of the shooting, employees were still working inside. Alcocer was wearing her In-N-Out uniform when her body was found just feet from the restaurant’s front door.

The entire In-N-Out family grieves today over this senseless tragedy as we send our thoughts and prayers to the Alcocer family,” said Lynsi Snyder, In-N-Out owner and president in an email statement. “We are devastated and will miss her.”

Alcocer was employed at La Mirada In-N-Out location since 1996 and was one of the original associates at the location, Snyder said

“So many things going on in the world today. We will remain strong and stand in love for Josefina. God bless and comfort all who are mourning a loved one at this time,” Snyder said.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call the L.a. County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
