Eagles fall to GSAC rival
With the end of the season on the horizon, women’s basketball loses a close match to the Westmont Warriors.

As the season winds down, the women’s basketball team took a trip to Westmont College for its eleventh Golden State Athletic Conference matchup. Arriving at Santa Barbara, the Eagles were even with a season record of 13-13 and were 6-5 in their conference.
Now, after a 52-60 loss to the Warriors, the Eagles dropped below .500 with an even 6-6 conference record.
For a majority of the game, the Eagles kept up with the Warriors. After a 13-14 first quarter, the Eagles left for the locker room leading the Warriors 25-24. After a 15-point third quarter, the Warriors took the lead over the Eagles 39-38.
Down by one the Eagles fought for the lead, scoring 14 points. However, it was not enough to overtake the Warriors’ 20-point fourth quarter and the Eagles lost 52-60.
The Warriors’ defense kept Biola in check and allowed only one Eagle to score double digit points. After scoring 10 points in the first quarter, sophomore guard DeMoria White, who was 6-12 at the three-point line, scored 16 points in 35 minutes.
With three games left in the season, the Eagles will travel to Arizona and take the court against Arizona Christian University on Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
