Crime Log: Aug. 19-Sept. 5

This weeks crime log consists of a sexual assault and multiple petty thefts.

Petty theft ― Chase Gymnasium

Aug. 19, 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., reported Aug. 19

An alumnus left a cell phone unattended in Chase Gymnasium which was stolen and is still under investigation.

 

Sexual Assault ― On campus

Fall 2014, reported Aug. 24, 2015

A student was sexually assaulted and reported the incident to student development. Further information is confidential.

 

Petty Theft  ― Common Grounds

Aug. 24, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

A student had cash and other items stolen from Common Grounds when the items were left unattended. The incident was filed with Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and remains under investigation.

 

Petty Theft ― Blackstone Hall

Aug. 17, 4 p.m. to Aug. 25, 6:00p.m., reported Aug. 26

A bag was stolen from an unattended dorm room and was reported to the LASD. The incident is still under investigation. Campus Safety is working with the LASD by reviewing video footage from the dorm.

 

Vandalism ― Talbot Drive

Aug. 28, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., reported Sept. 2

A vehicle was vandalized on Talbot Drive and was reported to Campus Safety. This incident is still under investigation.

 

Grand Theft ― Business Building

April 17, 3:22 p.m. to 3:35 p.m., reported Sept. 3

Property of the university was stolen and taken out of the business building and was reported to campus safety for further investigation.

 

Disturbing the Peace ― Alpha Hall

Sept. 3, 9:48 p.m.

A neighboring residence of Biola University complained of loud noises coming from Alpha, but once the campus safety officer arrived the noises had ended.

 

Petty Theft ― Fluor Fountain

Sept. 3, 6:00 p.m. to Sept 4, 12:15 p.m., reported Sept. 4

A bicycle was stolen from the Fluor fountain and was reported missing to Campus Safety. The student found the bicycle the following day.  

 

Disturbing the Peace ― Horton Hall

Sept. 5, 11:24 p.m.

A neighbor reported loud noises from the Horton Hall area. After further investigation, officers confirmed the noises were coming from a different residence outside of Biola’s grounds.
