Women’s basketball overcame the Montana Tech Diggers 74-71 in a close game. The Eagles’ last game was against the Chapman University Panthers, who handed them their second loss of the season on Nov. 17. The Diggers came to Biola from Montana with a 4-3 record and the Eagles’ victory improved their record to 4-2.
The Eagles jumped ahead in the first quarter, leading the Diggers 24-15. Although the Diggers started to close in during the second quarter, Biola led the game by five at halftime.
After an even quarter, the game became even closer as the lead changed four times in the fourth quarter. The Eagles, boosted by their five point lead at the start of the final quarter, scored 21 more points and beat the Diggers 74-71.
Sophomore guard DeMoria White made 25 out of the 74 points scored by the Eagles. Fellow sophomore guard Danielle Kennedy also scored a high number of points in the game. She made 18 points and four out of her seven three point shot attempts.
In the Eagles' next game, they take the court against the Cal Poly Pomona Mustangs. They will play at Biola on Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
