After an impressive run at the NAIA Indoor National Championship meet, the track and field team only brought four runners to the Occidental Distance and Sprints Festival to begin the outdoor season.

The Eagles brought only underclassmen to the meet to compete in the 5,000 meter run. For the women’s side, freshman Hannah Freehan crossed the finish line first with a time of 19:12.57 to finish 57th out of 128 runners. Fellow freshmen Stephanie Croy finished 69th with a time of 19:28.26 and Delanie Eng was the final Eagle to cross the line with a time of 19:44.24 for 76th.

Sophomore Brandon Bertz was the only male runner for Biola and finished 97th out of 203 runners.

The Eagles have about a month to prepare for the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship meet on April 24. Biola has four meets including the championship to qualify as many runners as possible for the NAIA National Outdoor Championship in May.

Biola will compete in the Redlands Invitational on March 20.
