This week’s Associated Students Senate meeting consisted of one proposal and voting on proposals made at last week’s meeting.

PROPOSALS

The only proposal of the meeting came from AS clubs coordinator Catherine Dinius for a clubs insurance buffer for $1,500. When a new club receives funding, Biola requires them to purchase insurance from risk management. This buffer would allow AS to cover the insurance cost for the first year of a new club.

The three clubs requiring insurance this year are the Strength-Mind, Body, Spirit club, the MMA club and the Surfing club. The insurance totals at $1,420.

VOTING

In a same day vote, the senate voted in favor of passing Dinius’ proposal in the full amount of $1,500.

Next, the senate voted to pass Hart Loves Week in the partial amount of $862. This amount only funds the events that include the entire campus, rather than Hart specific events.

Lastly, the Candyland funding proposal was passed for the full amount of $1,100.
