The women’s soccer team faced off against Southern Oregon University on Sept. 10th. The win puts the Eagles at 4-0 and propels them into the best start to their season in eight years.

Biola came out quickly, but despite outshooting the Raiders 9-2, the Eagles could not make the connection to take the lead in the first half.

But Biola overwhelmed the Raiders in the second half. Within the first minute of the second half, sophomore forward Taylor Vengas made her fourth goal of the season with an assist from senior midfielder Amanda Lillicrop to give the Eagles their first lead.

The Eagles continued to push Southern Oregon’s defense and put up four shots without making a connection. In the 73rd minute their patience was rewarded with another goal from freshman midfielder Ashley Ramirez to gain a 2-0 lead.

Junior goalkeeper Marina Rodriguez made three saves throughout the night to keep the Eagles lead secured. Biola held off the Raiders for the remaining moments of the match to put their record at 4-0.

The Eagles will try to continue their undefeated streak on Sept. 13 against Our Lady of the Lake University in Prescott, Ariz.
