This week’s Associated Students senate meeting began with student feedback on the Eddy on Nov. 13. Resident senators received mostly positive reactions for the performing artists.

During the meeting, guest speaker Susan Ishii, chief educational technology officer, spoke to the Senate about online classes. Ishii heard issues that senators had previously encountered and noted potential improvement for the program.

PROPOSALS

AS Music and Arts Coordinator Mark Nesbitt proposed for an undisclosed amount for the Christmas Tree Lighting concert featuring Judith Hill on Dec. 1. These additional funds account for a venue change from Metzger Lawn to Calvary Chapel due to potential noise issues. Administration was unaware of the intended location of the concert and did not approve the venue once informed of AS’s intentions.

“The screens will still be on outside [of Calvary Chapel]…and the doors will be left open in Calvary so that the music can come out,” Nesbitt said.

The proposed amount would pay for equipment rental costs and account for Hill’s transportation to Biola.
