Suspects involved in a drive-by shooting that occurred approximately a quarter mile from the student apartments on Rosecrans Avenue have not been apprehended.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department does not have a description of the suspect or suspects who fired two shots at a male victim, said Deputy Lucero of the Norwalk Sheriff’s station. The car, a charcoal-gray 7-series BMW, was last seen heading north on Valley View Avenue.

The victim was hospitalized for non-life threatening wounds after the incident and is okay, said Sergeant Arias of the Norwalk Sheriff's station.

Campus Safety sent out email and text alerts to the Biola community at 1 p.m. today, shortly after the shooting occurred. Campus Safety Chief John Ojeisekhoba confirmed with the LASD that the victim was not a Biola student.

Since the suspects’ car was last seen heading away from the university, Biola is not in immediate danger, Ojeisekhoba said. At the time of the shooting, Ojeisekhoba deployed officers to the off-campus Rosecrans apartments and the Rancho campus as a standard precaution.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is still actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Norwalk Sheriff’s station at 562-863-8711.
