Dwight Howard is an inspiring beast
1,177,016 Twitter followers is all I have to say. Some call him Dwight, some Howard, but most call him Superman.
Dwight Howard is a 6-foot11-inch, 265 pound center in the NBA with over 40 inches of vertical. He is an absolute beast. In the 08-09 NBA season, Dwight averaged 20 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. He was the runner-up MVP of the entire NBA behind the dominating LeBron James. He also led his team to the NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, but lost in a series that went five games.
Dwight Howard is a three-time NBA All-Star, he was the 2009 Defensive Player of the Year, he has set numerous NBA records and is consistently the best in the league in field gold percentage and rebounding. In 2008 he won the slam-dunk contest with some unbelievable twist and turns in the air while slapping a Philippians 4:13 sticker on the backboard, indicating that he can do all things through Christ! To top that off, he led the 2008 USA Olympic Basketball team to a gold medal.
He does more than just basketball though. He is known for his T-Mobile commercials and his extreme love for video games, and most of all, his fire for Jesus Christ. His favorite song is, “Praise Is What I do.”
“I'm not trying to give glory for myself,” he says. “I'm trying to give glory for Him (speaking of Jesus)."
He is bold and isn’t afraid to lift the name of Jesus high in the celebrity realm. One of the things he feels God has called to do is live out godly character and contend for a harvest of souls of NBA stars and many more. He is an inspiration to many and his testimony is powerfully advancing the Kingdom of God.
